Scrolling through Instragram, I came across a likable North Shore member running for the New South Wales state election. He’s the epitome of an endangered blue-ribbon Liberal – a family-oriented conservative who is more interested in his local community than internal party politicking.
He speaks well, appears to have a solid moral code, and spends most of his time with his local community. All good things.
And then came the tragic sight of him standing next to an EV charging station with the same false grin and transparent messaging as the rest of the party, pretending that the product of an extraordinarily wasteful and toxic mining practice is going to ‘save the planet’ while New South Wales’ energy bills double and blackouts loom.
One wonders which members of his local community, who are struggling to keep their children in private education while mortgages surge, is going to fork out for an EV? How can a family, who has spent the last ten years buying ‘5-star energy-saving appliances’ and turning off their kettles before going out, justify such a monstrous energy parasite parked in their garage?
Buying an inferior product, for twice the price, that can’t travel as far, takes longer to recharge, has no re-sale value, and nasty ongoing costs – is not exactly an election-winning promise.
There couldn’t be a worse time to promote an electric vehicle future. It’s doubtful the MP, or his family members, are prepared to embrace one as their family car – so why do sensible conservatives keep peddling them? Why is he standing next to a product he would not put his money behind like one of those early-morning commercials pushing worthless crap onto bleary-eyed channel surfers?
This behaviour is a symptom of a fatal disease spreading through conservative parties in Australia. EVs are one of the many money-making scams dangling off the arm of the Climate Change cult – and I say ‘cult’ because the irrational preaching of an unfounded imminent apocalypse as the basis for political power is nothing short of emotional blackmail. Its use of children as megaphones only makes it more depraved.
Don’t believe me? Climate Change would look a lot different is it was a truly altruistic movement.
You wouldn’t see its high priests jetting around in private planes to inconsequential conferences, nor would you find CEOs of ‘climate friendly’ businesses building sprawling mansions on the Pacific Islands. If global retail and tech companies actually cherished the environment, they wouldn’t make their devices prone to fail after a year – nor would they cling to a seasonal fashion industry encouraging citizens to re-buy their wardrobes every few months.
Where are the mobile phones that last ten years? Why isn’t Amazon banning the sale of plastic goods through its service? Why is it that those who create the most pollution in this world lecture to the poor about how selfish it is for them to own a tiny scrap of land? The answer is simple: they want to own more and for you to own less.
We can safely say that Climate Change is not taken seriously by those most heavily invested in it. The only true believers are the brainwashed citizens at the bottom of the food chain – the youngest generations that have no idea what they are sacrificing and the older ‘Teal’ era voters who have retired on millions and are prepared to burn money to furnish their virtue.
Climate Change is a political movement created to make money – and EVs are linked to the outrageous profits being made by mining giants who have devised a way to dramatically increase the value of their otherwise worthless minerals. At the same time as the demand and revenue for this portfolio grows, mining companies are cutting back on the supply of fossil fuels, despite demand continuing to rise. This increases the price of fossil fuels and extends the lifetime asset return, making ‘Green politics’ a huge win for the industry. It’s an industry that knows the world cannot survive without it and, when the Church of Climate Change collapses, they fully intend to revert to Uranium and other pro-nuclear products.
It is into this scam that the Liberal Party wanders, forced to support the rhetoric that is rapidly destroying the prosperity of Australia and ushering in a fascist-style system of government that seeks to infringe upon cherished liberties via ideas like a digital carbon footprint.
Every time a Liberal, regardless of how well-meaning, stands next to one of the pillars of the Climate Change cult, they make themselves into another chisel hacking away at Australia’s foundation. Their endorsement of such things as EVs – and the unnecessary meddling in the automotive market – is not the path of a true Liberal. Why does a local MP care what sort of a car their constituents are buying?
The biggest mistake of the Australian Liberals was to buy into the lie of the climate apocalypse. Once you accept the message that ‘the world is about to end!!!’ any policy can be justified – just as fear of Covid led to the reckless expansion of emergency legislation.
If any policy can be justified to ‘save the world’, conversely, any politician who then speaks out and insists on calm or rational decision-making can easily be painted as a ‘denier’ or ‘climate criminal’. Anything less than panic and authoritarian-style obedience is ‘literally’ destroying the world, making you a physical threat, not just a political opponent. The kids believe this.
What the Liberals have not worked out is that extremism is perfectly valid when an apocalypse is in play. Liberal MPs can never win a policy debate on the side of conservatism and common sense while ever they refuse to to dismantle the core lie of apocalypse.
While yes, Matt Kean is toxic and has to be cut out of the New South Wales Liberal Party – he is only a growth that has burst through the skin, feeding off the deeper rot that we saw manifest in both state and federal politics.
Someone – maybe Premier Dominic Perrottet, but probably not – has to have the courage to say, ‘We lied to you. There is no climate apocalypse. The world is not going to end. This was a huge mistake on our part and we apologise. Caring for the environment is good, but the global push for Net Zero is nothing more than collectivism wearing green skin.’
Then, and only then, will a Liberal MP be able to hold their ground against the irresponsible eco zealots that delight in brainwashing our children into a two-dimensional culture of fear run by a pack of international corporations (who want to make money off them), and unelected bureaucracies – who have their hands in the global wallet.
