The ungodly era of progressive politics has been gutted by the pen. Page after page, folder after folder. The executive orders have been a wet dream for conservatives and a nightmare for bureaucratic parasites.
Shortly after taking office, President Donald Trump – and by extension, America – gave the World Health Organisation the cold shoulder.
As Trump said upon signing the order: ‘Oh… That’s a big one.’
The executive order (which will strike the heart of pharmaceutical companies with just as much force) issued a list of damning reasons for America’s immediate withdrawal, starting with ‘the organisation’s mishandling of the Covid pandemic that arose out of Wuhan, China, and other global health crises’ adding that the WHO needed to undergo urgent reforms and ‘its inability to demonstrate independence from the appropriate political influence of WHO member states’ was a part of the problem.
Essentially, the generosity of America has been taken advantage of by WHO member states. America is paying for the healthcare of third-world nations while their own citizens struggle to afford medical attention. That is a failure of concept and a misuse of taxpayer money.
America also expressed its dissatisfaction with ‘unfairly onerous payments’ that are ‘out of proportion’ with countries such as China, which was name-dropped as contributing 90 per cent less to the WHO despite having 300 per cent of the population of America.
Not to mention China is held responsible for the pandemic that cost the world a fortune in time, money, and lives for which it has paid no reparations and offered no apology or admission of guilt. By my count, China owes everyone about 10 trillion dollars…
As a side note, Wuhan is currently bragging about being a tourist attraction thanks to birthing Covid. According to the Daily Mail, one Wuhan resident said, ‘Now everyone pays more attention to Wuhan. They say Wuhan is the city of heroes!’ I guess there is no such thing as bad publicity.
The WHO is probably most upset about the money.
America finances a major chunk of their budget, including the lion’s share of their HIV program. They will also be losing staffing resources, with personnel set to be folded back into American-run organsiations. It is possible America could overtake the WHO as the world leader in health. Will we see a situation where African nations start paying America directly for health programs? Probably.
It would go a long way to reversing the flow of wealth redistribution.
Americans do not have anything to fear from leaving the WHO because the average person gets nothing back for their money. It is only now, in the clarity of the Trump executive order, that people are asking why they agreed to fund it in the first place.
Leaving the WHO has the added benefit of ditching the Pandemic Agreement and ignoring the International Health Regulations.
Australia was told all sorts of nasty things would happen if they tried to back out and yet America has shown us that there is nothing binding about these organisations or agreements. It is all flapping wings and no bat virus.
As for the WHO, they appear to be in a state of panic following the news.
Their public comment expressed ‘regret’ at the decision and then rattled off a marketing spiel about its ‘crucial role’ protecting the health of the world’s people.
The clingy statement included:
The United States was a founding member of the WHO in 1948 and has participated in shaping and governing WHO’s work ever since, alongside 193 other Member States … for over seven decades, WHO and the USA have saved countless lives and protected Americans and all people from health threats. Together, we ended smallpox, and together we have brought polio to the brink of eradication.
Now for some truth: if the WHO had not become a parasite on Western economies, a sycophant of China, an apologist for nations that create deadly pandemics, and overreached its portfolio with treaties designed to usurp sovereignty, this never would have happened.
The WHO are wholly responsible for their predicament and they have overstayed their welcome.
Global organisations are coming to terms with the new reality where America is not their doctor, not their sugar daddy, and not their safety net. The take-take-take socialists within these structures have run out of other people’s money.
Covid proved that the World Health Organisation is wholly unfit to handle global pandemics. Its advice and presence in the conversation made the situation more dangerous. Worse, their complicity in protecting China, followed by their stalling of the investigation into Covid which prevented international scrutiny, is not only shameful, it is inexcusable and against their supposed statement of purpose.
Failing to repent for these disasters, the WHO then embarked on a relentless campaign to expand their power over Western nations, interfere with domestic health procedures, and scam fortunes from their treasuries.
And then we have the constant fear-mongering about the next pandemic. Monkeypox, anyone? It was starting to look as though they had become addicted to the power and attention the Covid pandemic afforded them.
They even colluded in an attempt to bring in a biometric Digital ID in the form of a Health Pass to assist in the mandating of vaccines for international travel, hijacking freedom of movement and ensuring their friends in the pharmaceutical industry would have permanent and lucrative futures at the expense of human dignity and body autonomy.
The biggest loser will ultimately be the pharmaceutical companies. They envisioned a world where the WHO could issue a vaccine mandate enforced via treaty across signatory nations (including Australia). This would automatically trigger vast sums of public money to exchange hands. Outrageous.
There has been no official comment yet from either Prime Minister Anthony Albanese or Opposition Leader Peter Dutton about whether Australia will withdraw. Neither seem inclined to do so. Most agree it is almost guaranteed that our country will remain under the thumb of international health nannies regardless of who we vote for this year.
If conservative voters want a WHO-free future, they need to make it very clear to Mr Dutton.
