Bitcoin critics are exactly the same as the people who blindly obeyed their leaders during Covid.
They always appeal to authority. They tell me experts like Jamie Dimon and Warren Buffett have already done the research so there’s no need to look any further.
They tell me the government doesn’t like it and if the government is against it then it must be bad.
They tell me it should be banned and all discussion ceased.
They get hysterical and start frothing while telling me the environment is going to be wiped out if Bitcoin keeps using energy.
They tell me there’s nothing wrong with government money and we should keep using what the government says is best for us.
They have the smug arrogance of the fool who knows the dumb masses are on his side so they can dismiss an idea without being able to accurately explain the thing they mock.
It never occurs to them that they are just as brainwashed and indoctrinated as all the hysterical cowards who blindly followed government orders during Covid.
The only reason I call them fools is because Bitcoin really isn’t that complicated. The logic is very simple and rational. I’m not speaking in abstract metaphors. The current money is infinite and centralised. Bitcoin is scarce and decentralised. I’m yet to hear a single good argument as to why a decentralised and scarce form of money won’t eventually win against a centralised and infinite form of money.
It’s not going to happen overnight and there will be volatility along the way. It took 30 years for the internet to become ubiquitous and there were many bubbles and crashes during that time.
When the internet first came along it was considered too difficult for the regular person. It was slow, cumbersome and full of shady people who were going to exploit the ignorance of any lamb who waded into cyberspace uneducated. But now even grandma is posting memes on Facebook.
Bitcoin is following a similar path. The shady are being purged and the use is getting easier. If you google the words ‘Lugano’, ‘Bitcoin’, and ‘McDonald’s’ you will see a man walking into a Swiss McDonald’s and buying a burger with Bitcoin by scanning a QR code. This is because a region in Switzerland has made Bitcoin legal tender and most businesses accept it now. You can even pay your taxes with it.
This is how far Bitcoin has come already. Using Bitcoin at a Swiss McDonald’s is as simple as scanning a QR code. It is free, instant, and there’s not a single thing any bank, government, or financial institute can do about it. There are no middlemen. No bank taking a cut. No central bank creating more and diluting the value of it.
The only weapon our financial overlords had against Bitcoin was to ridicule and attack it through the media.
The sad part is that it worked.
